At almost 10 percent per year between 1999 and 2008, Cambodia's Gross Domestic Product growth was very strong. The episode of sustained growth was interrupted in 2008-09, but is recovering strongly in 2010-11 with GDP growth estimated at nearly 7.0 percent. The World Bank’s assistance for Cambodia focuses on removing governance constraints on growth and poverty reduction, and supporting the strategies and investments needed to achieve Cambodia’s development goals. Currently, there are projects in Cambodia in the areas of governance, health, education, trade facilitation, public financial management, land, agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, and water and sanitation.
